如果一個自己的房間是隱私的禁入之地，那麼單身者的臥室或許就是這塊禁地的最後疆域、一個秘密中的秘密。作為已然普遍的生存狀態，單身與其說是反映一人獨自生活的結果，不如說是一種選擇，是一連串選項的排除或組合。
《臥室計畫》嘗試從最隱密的生活空間著眼，探索單身的複數表態、消費風潮下「理想居所」的現實梗概與隱私公開化的底線。此外，因攝影行為所凝結的片刻／面真實，弔詭地使這些被攝者脫離既屬脈絡，模糊他們原有的社會角色，讓這些肖像照呈現的各個面容只是現實的斷片、部分的自我。
The Bedroom Project (2010 — )
Statement
A single person is a singular noun. Being single is a way of life. Being single is not a singular lifestyle.
Started from 2010, The Bedroom Project focuses on the personal space of these PLURAL singles and their diverse ways of life. Being single is in fact the result of a complex set of personal choices and circumstances. As a tool to expose, my camera not only resembles a social anthropologist’s viewpoint and approach to the privacy of these individuals, but also explores the relation between the space utilization and his/her lifestyle, and the gap of personal image between the private and the public. Being single is of course a personal “status”, and it is a social issue as well: to be or not to be, that is everyone’s question.
